The Düsseldorf band "Dead Dates" are not only dedicated to punk rock, but have also been passionate sports fans for decades and closely connected to two traditional clubs from their state capital! Now, two new songs are being released (not only) for all Fortuna Düsseldorf and DEG fans on limited edition 7-inch vinyl!
Singer “Grandpa” Marcus Haefs was the stadium DJ for Fortuna Düsseldorf for decades, also made pilgrimages to almost every home game of the ice hockey club and therefore has a sure sense for sounds that appeal to supporters & ultras:
" We didn't want to write new stadium anthems or promotion songs with these tracks, or reach new fans. We simply liked the idea of recording a double A-side single for the most important clubs in our city, with lots of fun and beer involved ."
Talking about promotion would be rather silly for the footballers at the moment, being right in the middle of the relegation battle, and that's why the Fortuna95 song is called "Never again secondary pitch 11", peppered with defiant humor.
DEG is also trying to regain its top-class status, so "Go DEG"...the playoffs are not far away!
Punk has always focused more on the underdogs, and true fans remain loyal to their club in every situation!

The beautiful cover by Moppa Tobias Witte naturally reminds us of our wonderful trip to Guadeloupe with concerts at Zoo rock café , Dantana Café and Skullhouse with our friends from the great The Bolokos .
